Purpose

OTG is committed to creating a safe environment for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). While we work to reduce scams and abuse, users must always exercise caution when interacting with others.

1. Stay Alert

Never assume another user, employer, recruiter, landlord, buyer, seller, or service provider is legitimate simply because they have an OTG account.

2. Recruitment Scams

Never pay recruitment fees unless permitted by law. Verify employers and recruiters through official government channels before accepting offers or sending money.

3. Housing Scams

Never send deposits without verifying the property, ownership, and legitimacy of the listing. Meet safely whenever possible.

4. Money & Payment Safety

Never send money to strangers based only on online conversations. Use trusted payment methods and keep transaction records.

5. Personal Information

Never share passwords, one-time passwords (OTP), banking credentials, passport copies, or sensitive documents unless absolutely necessary and only with trusted organizations.

6. Suspicious Users

If you encounter suspicious behavior, report the user immediately through the OTG reporting tools. Do not attempt to investigate scams on your own.

7. Meetups

If meeting another user, choose a public place, tell a trusted friend or family member, and avoid carrying large amounts of cash.

8. Fake Profiles

Be cautious of accounts requesting money quickly, refusing video calls, using stolen photos, or providing inconsistent information.

9. Content Safety

Do not post or distribute illegal content, malware, phishing links, fraudulent documents, or misleading information.

10. OTG's Role

OTG provides a platform for discussion. OTG does not verify the identity, employment status, qualifications, licenses, immigration status, businesses, recruiters, landlords, employers, or service providers using the platform.

11. Reporting

Users are encouraged to report scams, harassment, fraud, impersonation, spam, and abusive behavior. Reports are reviewed by moderators and appropriate action may include content removal, account suspension, or permanent bans.

12. Emergency Situations

If you believe you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or the appropriate government authority before contacting OTG.
